5 Tips to Help You Win in Games Like Words with Friends and Scrabble
Are you ready for that exciting game night scrabble with your friends? Are you tired of being schooled? Unleash your inner nerdiness with these tips to help you dominate your friends for your next Scrabble game!To some people, Scrabble or games like Words with Friends may seem simple. Just think about words that you can make with given letter tiles and you are good to go. But it’s not always cupcakes and rainbows while playing these kind of games. There will come a time when you will just be flabbergasted as to what word you can make with the tiles you currently have. Even if you are a bookworm with a big vocabulary, you will still be frustrated if you get low scores while playing this game with your friends.
If you want to win in Words with Friends, Scrabble Go and any popular word games for guys and girls, learning new strategies and techniques is the key. And without further ado, here are some 5 tips on winning your next game!
Plan your First Word
Being the person who plays first, you have to plan for a strong first word. You can choose a 5-letter word to start, as long as it includes the center star. This allows you to think about your game plan from the start. How you place your letters will determine which bonus squares will be available to your opponent.
Learn words with Q without U
Besides the letter Z, Q also has the highest point value. Most people get stuck with a Q tile because they don’t have U to partner it with. Make a list and remember all the playable words that don’t need the letter U. Better yet, surprise your opponents with a Q double or triple letter square! You can also do this with other high-scoring letters such as X, Z, and J.
Offense and Defense
The defense is the best offense. This is especially true if you plan to win. In any competitive board game, making a move is not about just scoring, it should also hinder them. Always assume that your opponent can see the opportunity that you can see. Sure, it's great that you can take that opportunity for yourself but getting it from everyone else is better.
Short Words
Players usually underestimate 2 to 3-letter words. They are especially important near the end of the game. You will need to be creative when it comes to these words because, towards the end of the game, space will be limited. They are also useful in helping you score double when you add a single letter to create two words and add more points.
Practice Makes Perfect
Everyone knows that practice makes perfect. The more you play, the better you become. Aim to get better scores each game. Try to observe your opponent’s moves and tactics. Being consistent will improve your strategy and broaden your vocabulary.
Playing games with your friends is a fun way of spending time with them. Whether it is playing Scrabble Go or Words with Friends, these games give us a way to engage and compete in a friendly way. Not only does it challenge your vocabulary and strategy, but it also helps you create memorable memories filled with laughter and connection with your friends. So, what are you waiting for? Gather up your friends, schedule a game night, and have fun!
